Antique Royal Doulton Flambe Vase Rare Shape Honesty Trial Piece Like Sung Pot

  
DESCRIPTION Very attractive small vase Decorated with a deep coloured flambe ground with an iridescent purple/blue/gold honesty pattern quite subtle in places until viewed under bright lights. After much searching a cant find another like it The vase has the impressed number 7139 again seems to be a very scarce shape.

The mark of a lion over a crown with the circular Doulton England mark dates it to between 1902 and 1922 There is a cross scratched into the base so i assume this pattern / decoration process was rejected as probably too unpredictable Though i feel it is a stunning effect and seems completely unique.
